The new year is…

The holiday’s were good. We spent Dec 23 – 31 in New York, visiting Brian’s family. We have been trying to alternate holiday’s, but the last two years we’ve spent Thanksgiving in GR and X-Mas in NY. The way that events fall.
But now, we’re back in our routine. We’ve been making soups. Exercising daily. And in general just enjoying our company.
Also, on an aside, Sandy wanted to point out that lately Brian has had some very long nose hairs.
Finally, I’ve dubbed 2012 as a year where I (Brian) listen to a lot of reggae.

I was alone in Wisconsin. But this year, I’m feeling a little bit better about it. We have up our tree. A few gifts underneath. Although we’ll be spending the actual holiday in New York, it is still nice to get into the holiday mood.
We had a good Thanksgiving in Michigan. It was busy, we got to see both sides of Sandy’s family. We also got to visit Traverse City, which I think might be my favorite city in Michigan. I like it because it is right on the Grand Traverse Bay. So beautiful geographically, but also, it has this artsy, home-grown, flannel, micro-brew feeling.

Last time we left off, it was the summer, and Sandy and I didn’t know what was next. I was in Wisconsin, and she was in New York.
Well, Sandy is now in Wisconsin. We are living together in a small town called Hartford. Not exactly where we thought we would end up. But it is geographically between our jobs. That’s right, after New York had next to no jobs, Sandy “went west”. And she got the first job she applied to.
So life is better than it has been for a while.
